This is a new role in 2025
We have the role of chef/food captains on the first two weekends in order to:
Let the workers work, weekends can be really busy
This removes burden from the shift captains
It's an opportunity to help make the food part a little more fun
How does this work?
We have 4 weekend days with a lunch and dinner shift, each of those 8 shifts needs a chef
Yes, someone can certainly be a chef more than once
The idea is that you provide food & beverages for the shift workers, cashier and yourself. Brats, a bags of chips and beverages are fine. But don't limit yourself - chili, bbq, pulled pork, Mexican, Italian - help us add a bit of pizzazz to the weekends.
Lunch is typically for about 30 guys - the morning shift and incoming afternoon shift
Dinner is typically for about 15 guys
We have a grill, black stone, and usually a lot of left over beverages, which could always stand some replenishing
Some chefs will grill, others will bring crock pots and others will bring roasting pans with food that just needs to be kept relatively warm
We should have plates, utensils and napkins
Cookies make a great dessert, but don't let us limit you
Guys will typically come over a few at a time to eat so others can work
Don't forget to offer the cashier food
